Novellas and Future Works The Poisoned Chalice This is a novella (consisting of about 60 pages) featured in an anthology called Mystery, Magic, Voodoo and the Holy Grail (HarperCollins Australia). It is a future thriller about a dystopian world where it’s official policy to cleanse the world of the weak, the deformed, the stupid, the fat and even people who are too short! It’s basically full-on action and has the unlikeliest of heroines struggling all alone against the world. One of the first drafts of this can be found at Ian's site. Grim and Grimmer A series in a similar vein to the Fantasticas, each will be roughly 30,000 words long. There will be four books, all of which are due in 2010. Tribtue to Hell A novella of roughly 10,000 words in an anthology called Dreamtime: Legends of Australian Fantasy. This will be due out in mid 2010. Fantasy Project As yet untitled this will be Ian's next fantasy trilogy for older readers. It will be essentially unrelated to the Three Worlds saga. Ian gives the premise of the series: ‘A timid slave (Thalalie) who sets out to uncover her mother’s killer ends up toppling a corrupt regime and freeing both her people and their oppressors.’
